As I have blogged many times before, music is a major influence on my writing. Below are the lyrics to THE song that inspired the original plot to my upcoming novel, September Rain! It’s a lovely and unusual song written and performed by my favorite Indie band, The Accident Experiment.
Hello dear, my Holy cure, I hope this letter says this better Cause I’m here and your so pure You make me feel special My untouched angel And I just relive in my mind The times of ours like bullet scars And I keep on writing you so patiently but you don’t answer me. So –
I’ll make your world come falling down Down on me, down on me I’ll make your world come crashing down Til you drown, drown on me
In the end we could still pretend. I’ll be your savior, your dream creator And then we could begin Our four-walled heaven. Let no one else in Cause I want you all alone But you’re cold as steel and it makes me feel Time keeps on screaming I can’t go on like this, so lets just dismiss this
I’ll make your world come falling down Down on me, down on me I’ll make your world come crashing down Til you drown, drown on me
Feel my mental cross you make me bear Seal my fate and I’m everywhere (everywhere)
You can’t run away I’m all around you You can’t breath without me I can’t live without you
You can’t run away I’m all around you You can’t breath without me I can’t live without you
This song formed the original plot idea for my book. But as I am a panster-type of writer–unable to form or complete, or follow an outline, the plot ended up different than where it began, though I think the tone of the story stayed the same.

INCYI, the original band members (some have left and been replaced since this album was released, as this band was started as a side-project for each of the members) that wrote and performed this song are as follows:
Vocals: Pete Stewart- Gramma Train and most recently 2013 Grammy Award: Best Rap Album – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis: The Heist (Engineer/Mixer), 2009 Grammy Award: Best Rock/Rap Gospel Album – TobyMac: Alive and Transported (Songwriter)–yeah, he’s kind of a big deal! He’s got a few other Grammy’s, but I don’t want to play favorites. (He left the band several years ago. Brandon Davis)
Lead Guitar: Marcos Curiel- (Okay, he’s my favorite! Totally, and by far! He’s just such a talent and a truly nice person. So is Pete, but I haven’t seen him since he went back to Seattle.) He’s best known for his work with the band, P.O.D.–whom I LOVE! He’s a truly gifted guitarist. He’s got so much music coming out of him all the time that he has to start side projects –like The Accident Experiment, Daylight Division–to get it all out. He also produces this band.
Drums: Ernie “Tarantula” Longoria-Sprung Monkey is his main band, though he has sat in for the drummer of P.O.D. (Wuv) once or twice. He’s called Tarantula because he plays like he’s got eight arms and legs, but I call him “Bruce Lee” because he’s too fast for my camera. Every picture I have of him performing is a blur. looming behind a drum set, with his face setting on top.
Bass: Tony Delocht- Also a member of Sprung Monkey, still alive and thriving in San Diego. Really good guy and an awesom bass player (slapping the bass!)
